State police from the Punxsutawney barracks have released information on a crash yesterday in West Mahoning Township.
Troopers say 48-year-old Clyde Young, Jr. of New Bethlehem was driving west on Dayton Smicksburg Road near Dry Knob Road at 3:00 in the afternoon when he could not cleanly negotiate a left curve in the road. The pickup truck hydroplaned and veered off to the right, striking the cable of a utility pole. It stopped in a field to the right of the roadway. Police said that Young did not notify authorities of the accident and fled the scene after the crash.
Young was not hurt, but he was warned for failure to alert police on the crash.
