Lonnie K. Lowndes, 81, Waterman, died at his residence on Tuesday, April 22, 2025. He was the son of the late Bob and Bonita (Smith) Lowndes and was born on November 6, 1943, in Indiana, Pennsylvania.
Lonnie worked at Fisher Scientific for 25 years and then proudly served as a law enforcement officer for the PA Fish and Boat Commission for 23 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, his flowers, and playing horseshoes. Lonnie attended the Cornerstone Worship Center.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Ann Lowndes; his two daughters, Sherry Roland (fiancé Ray James) and Ginger Blatt, both of Homer City; and his grandchildren, Noah Blatt, Jaden Blatt, and Lonnie Scott Lowndes II. He is also survived by his sisters, Betty Steele and Bonnie Huff, as well as his beloved cat, Buttercup.
He will be missed by family and friends.
Friends are invited to visit on Friday from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM at the Bowser Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. in Homer City. The funeral service will take place on Saturday at 11 AM at the funeral home, with Pastor Paul Price officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Indiana.
