BASEBALL
Indiana scored a run in the second inning and made it stand up the rest of the way for a 1-0 win and a second shutout in two days against Valley. Ryan Okopal threw a complete-game one-hitter,, following up on Monday’s no-hitter by Greg Minnick and Sully VanHoose to make it fourteen innings pitched against the Vikings and only one-hit surrendered. Okopal walked one and struck out nine. Indiana had only three hits, by Tim Birch, VanHoose, and Charlie Manzi, and Caden Force drove in the game’s only run.
Indiana is now 15-1, 10-0 in their section.
SOFTBALL
Samantha Martin tossed a four-hitter and struck out four as Indiana shut out Freeport 5-0. The Indians scored a run in the first and four in the sixth. Addie Stossel had three hits and Kaylee Cass two.
Indiana is 7-9, 6-4 in section play.
