The Altoona Curve broke a two-game losing skid with a 6-2 win over Akron in a rain-shortened six-inning game yesterday.
Alessandro Ercolani threw four innings of one-run ball, allowing five hits and no walks while striking out four. Nick Cimillo had a solo homer, his first of the year, in the fourth inning that padded a 3-1 curve lead at that point. Jaden Woods earned the win for Altoona, allowing one unearned run in 1 and 2/3rds innings of relief.
The series continues tonight with Hunter Barco taking to the mound for Altoona.
