The PIAA District 6 AA Track and Field Championships completed Thursday night in Altoona, and Alex Polenik of Penns Manor came away as the only two-event winner from the Heritage Conference in the meet.
Polenik, a senior, won in the shot put with a throw of 54-05.00 and in the discus with a throw of 169-04.00.
The United boys’ team finished a distant second to Richland. Richland won the championship with 108.5 points while the Lions scored 63, boosted by two first-place finishes. Cambria Heights was the top Heritage Conference girls’ team, finishing third with 47 points.
