Charles Raymond Glasser age 96 passed away peacefully on May 18, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. The son of Charles and Nora (Frech) Glasser, he was born October 28, 1928 in Rayne Township.
Ray was a true pillar of the Marion Center Community. A dedicated farmer his entire life was known for his hard work, dedication to the land, and unwavering commitment to his family.
Ray was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Marion, Dart Fellowship. He served on the Marion Center Bank Board, Marion Center School Board and as a Rayne Township Supervisor. Ray was a graduate of Marion Center High School. He was a passionate basketball fan who found joy in attending local community games, cheering from the sidelines at his grandchildren’s matches and never missed a chance to watch a good game on television.
Ray, as he was affectionately known as Papa, was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion, and unwavering faith in God. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by him.
Ray is survived by his wife of 75 years, Doris (Wynkoop); his sister Freida Dick; several nieces and nephews; his seven children Diane (Sidney) Sellers; Carol Fry (late husband Lynn); Beverly (Mike) Gatskie; Janis (Lynn) Baun; Chuck (Linda) Glasser; Conni (Fred) Eaton; Fred (Wendy) Glasser. His is also survived by his fourteen grandchildren Evan (Taryn) Fry; Michael (Liz) Gatskie III; Natalie Gatskie; Lindsay (Tyler) Dreese; Stephanie (Collin) Stinogel; Adrienne (Bruce) Hainan; Alica (Tom) McQuillan; Lauren (Carson) Houser; Garrett (Mary) Glasser; Marissa (Zach) Rudy; Ben (Rachel) Eaton; Whitney (Justin) Hill; Chantel (Craig) Ciranni; Morgan Glasser and fiancé Ben Wolford. Twenty-one great grandchild Kensington Fry; Madison and Michael Gatskie IV; Quinn Gatskie; Abigail and Austin Dreese; Graham Stinogel; Addison and Anniston Hainan; Declan, Shayla and Cooper McQuillan; Avery and Grant Houser; Mason Glasser; Owen and Miles Rudy; Millie Eaton; Monroe and Londyn Hill; Luca Ciranni.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings Earl Glasser; Alice Kinter; Florence Shank; a son-in-law Lynn Fry.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, from 2:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home, 898 Old Route 119 N., Indiana, PA 15701. Friends will also be received on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM at the Presbyterian Church of Marion with Pastor Jackie Greene officiating. Graveside services will take place at Marion Center Cemetery.
