A McKeesport man is facing two counts of furnishing alcohol to a minor in connection with another man falling from the Clemente Wall at PNC Park on April 30th.
The State Police Liquor Control Enforcement office said 21-year-old Ethan Kirkwood supplied 20-year-old Kavan Markwood with beer before he fell from the right field stands. Video from the ballpark showed Kirkwood buying two cans of beer from a vendor and a few minutes later, Markwood was seen with one of those cans. About 45 minutes after that, Markwood fell over a low railing and landed on the warning track.
Kirkwood has been charged with similar crimes at IUP and at Slippery Rock University in October 2022. In the case at IUP, he pleaded guilty to purchasing alcohol for a minor and public intoxication and was fined $214. A week later, he pleaded guilty to similar charges in the Slippery Rock University incident and paid fines of $865.
Markwood’s doctors say he is progressing well in his recovery and could soon start physical therapy and other rehab.
