The Chevy Chase Community Center held a ceremony this morning highlighting the donation of a food delivery van.
The van will be used to deliver food to families who experience food insecurity and are unable to make it to the community center themselves. The donation was made by AETNA and Latino Connection. President and CEO of Latino Connection George Fernandez talked about how the idea of donating a van came about.
The van will be making its first trips to Marion Center and Purchase Line school districts next week. Dawn Ambrisco, co-chair of the Indiana Rural Health Council and Special Education Director at Purchase Line School district talked about what this means for kids and their families in the area.
Anyone in need of the community center’s services can contact them via their website.
