Diana R. (Markley) Harmon, 94, of Homer City, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, May 25, 2025, after a year of declining health. She was born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, on June 26, 1930, to James S. Markley and Mary B. (Davidson) Markley.
Diana graduated from Garfield Heights High School in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1951. She also graduated from the Indiana Hospital School of Nursing. Diana was employed by Indiana Hospital and retired from IUP Health Center in 1981.
She married Daniel D. Harmon, who died in 2016 after 65 years of marriage.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother to her surviving three children, Jon Eric Harmon (Jen), Kimberly Ann Harmon, and Daniel James Harmon; daughter-in-law, Tamara K; her grandchildren, John Travis Harmon (Sharon), Cody Daniel Harmon, and Stephanie Harmon; her great-grandchildren, Emery Wayne Harmon, Morgan Naomi Harmon, Paislee Grace Harmon and Jackson Wolfe; and her sister-in-law, Norma Harmon, as well as many his nieces and nephews.
Also surviving are special friends, Jim, Tom, Steve, Jeff, and Barry Stumpf; Diana Szabo and Beth Trimbath; our loving dog Nikki; and Pastors, Pat Lenox, Greg Golden, and Paul Morris.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters, Mary Louise Palmer (Bob) and Betty Patterson (Raymond), and brother, James Markley (Helen).
Our family is forever grateful for the many years of compassionate care, friendships, and hugs from Dr. Stella Boron and Dr. Bernard Coppolo. We also appreciate the outstanding care provided by the staff of Anew Home Health and 365 Hospice.
