The PIAA has approved Renda Digitial TV to carry Monday’s state playoff baseball game between Indiana and Bellefonte, with first pitch scheduled at 4 PM. However, the request for TV coverage of Homer-Center’s game against Charmichaels has been denied.
Enhanced radio coverage for Homer-Center will be carried on WCCS, with special pre-and-post game features on Renda Digital TV.
Both Indiana and Homer-Center won their district titles in dramatic fashion, rallying from a 2-1 deficit in the bottom of the seventh inning against Elizabeth Forward to send the game into extra innings before Charlie Manzi smashed a two-run home run in the eleventh for a walk-off 4A WPIAL championship-winning 4-1 triumph.
Homer-Center was down, 5-2 entering the bottom of the seventh inning and was down to its last strike, still trailing by two runs, in the District 6 Class A title game. But the Wildcats completed their comeback on a bases-loaded, bases-clearing sinking line-drive double by Braden Dunn.
First pitch is scheduled for 6 PM from First Commonwealth Bank Field.
