Indiana County Election Officials have released the official results of the 2025 primary election.
The results posted on the county’s website include the write-in votes for all the various races. In some cases, that has brought a new challenger for the general election in November. In White Township, Rich Gallo won his race for the republican nomination to the supervisors board, but Fred Heilman garnered 30 or so votes to win the nomination for the Democratic party.
Another race where a write-in candidate made an impact was the tax collector race for Center Township. In a close race for the Republican nomination, Brenda Duffy beat Mary Sardone 163-160. However, Sardone garnered 75 write-in votes to receive the Democrat party nod.
Election officials say that the write-in vote winners will soon receive a packet that they will need to fill out should they wish to appear on the ballot in November. That packet must be returned to the courthouse by June 19th. The first signing of the results will be held at 1:00 today and the final signing will be at 1:30 on Friday.
