A motions hearing is set today for a man accused of stealing packages off of front porches across four counties.
Court documents show that 34-year-old John Davis Manning is charged with the thefts from February 12th to the 27th in Indiana, Armstrong, Westmoreland and Allegheny Counties. The hearing today concerns a motion to reduce his bond, which is currently $150,000. State troopers said that Manning would pose as a DoorDash driver in some of the thefts and committed several retail thefts as well during his spree. When police searched his home, much of the stolen property was found.
Manning is currently being held in Indiana County Jail on charges of organized retail theft, receiving stolen property, theft by unlawful taking, possession of marijuana and of drug paraphernalia, theft of mail and two counts of retail theft.
