Marvin Howard Kuhns, 80, of Blairsville (Burrell Twp.) passed away on Monday, June 9, 2025, at Indiana Regional Medical Center, Indiana, PA. The son of George Ivan and Anna (Strojan) Kuhns, he was bon on January 3, 1945, in Wilkinsburg, PA. Marvin graduated from Blairsville High School, Class of 1962 and worked for FMC Technologies, Homer City as a supervisor for 41 years until his retirement in 2004. Marv was a faithful, family man. He had a love for the outdoors, whether it was deer or turkey hunting, going out to the woods just to sit and watch nature, doing yardwork or taking his beloved dog, Emma, for walks. Even when his mobility was limited, he looked forward to sitting on the porch with the neighborhood crew, talking about life, religion and politics.
Throughout his life his passion was sports, especially football, playing and watching. Marv assisted with coaching his daughters’ Little League and basketball teams, often spending weekends travelling the tri-state area for tournaments. He always took the opportunity to relate sports to life lessons and the importance of discipline. Surviving is his wife of 48 years, Carol A. (Albright) Kuhns, whom he married on September 4, 1976; two daughters, Andrea Odre (Doug) and Janna Kuhns (David Sha@er); and two grandchildren, Braden and Connor Odre. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 12, 2025, from 2 PM until the time of the funeral service at 4 PM at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N.
