State police from the Punxsutawney Barracks are investigating a scam involving a banking app and a puppy.
Troopers say on June 6th, the victim, identified as a 69-year-old woman from Northpoint near Smicksburg, tried to purchase a puppy through an online ad on social media. The woman was persuaded to send the suspect $500 for the puppy via the Chime mobile banking app, but has not received the puppy and her money has not been refunded.
