Joan Delores Ferra, 92, Creekside, passed away, June 20 2025, at St Andrews.
The daughter of James and Eleanor Galentine. She was born on September 5, 1932 in Indiana PA. Joan was a 1949 graduate of Indiana High School. After high school she married Robert Ferra. She attended and graduated from cosmetology school and opened her own hair salon while devoting herself to her children and grandchildren. She loved the beach at Stone Harbor, camping at Whitehall Church Camp as well as quilting, sewing and antiquing. She was an avid collector Department 56 houses, Beanie Babies and dolls. She was a member of Indiana First Church of God.
Surviving is her sister Virginia Ferra Homer City and her children Robin (Ahmet) Arslanpay, Pittsburgh, Robert Daniel Ferra II, Creekside, Evelyn Carnahan, Indiana, Alan Vincent (Selma) Ferra, Pittsburgh; grandchildren, Andrew Arslanpay, Christie Edwards, Jared (Amanda) Ferra, Jeremy (Laura) Carnahan, Alicia (Christopher) Johnston, Vincent Ferra, and great grandchildren, Sophia and Hunter Ferra, Colin (Maeghan), Chloe, Jaxen Carnahan, Walker, Gauge and Mia Johnston; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Joan in death was her husband Rober Ferra of 70 years, her parents James and Eleanor Galentine; grandchild Joshua Ferra and great grandchild Wesley Ferra; brothers, James and David Galentine, Phyllis (Sis) Perfetti and Louise Baird.
Friends will be received on Wednesday June 25, 2025 from 12 pm to 2 pm at the John A Lefdahl Funeral Home. Funeral service will immediately follow in the Lefdahl Chapel with Rev. Matthew Lantz, officiating.
Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Indiana First Church God 541 Lutz School Road Indiana Pa 15701.
