The 69th brush fire of the year in Indiana County was reported yesterday, and five fire departments were called out for it.
Indiana County 911 reported the brush fire at 4:40 PM along Willow Road in Armstrong Township. Indiana Fire Association was initially dispatched, but within a minute, Coal Run/McIntyre, Aultman, Iselin/West Lebanon and Elderton fire departments and Citizens’ Ambulance were dispatched. Tunnelton fire department was also summoned for standby detail for Iselin/West Lebanon firefighters. Details on the fire have not been released.
There were also two reports of utility lines down yesterday. One along Sinktown Road in South Mahoning Township that brought Plumville firefighters out at 5:14, and the other on Fire Academy Road at 7:08 PM when Indiana County 911 sent the Coral-Graceton fire crews to the scene.
Indiana fire association members were also called out to help with a call along Route 422 in Armstrong County at 7:11 PM.
