The National Weather Service is putting a flood watch in effect for Indiana, Armstrong, Jefferson and Westmoreland Counties starting at 1:00 this afternoon and running until midnight tonight.
During that time, the National Weather Service anticipates some heavy downpours in our area, and the excessive runoff may result in the flooding of rivers, creeks, streams and other flood-prone or low-lying areas. Flooding is also possible in poor drainage and urban areas.
People are advised to monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible flood warnings. Those living in flood prone areas should be ready to take action should flooding develop.
