The summer construction season gets even busier this week around Indiana County, with a number of ongoing projects and a new project set to begin a week from now.
New lane restrictions with a 12-foot wide limit are in effect on the Route 22 resurfacing project at the Route 403 eastbound exit onto Cramer Pike and at the westbound ramp at Dishing Mountain Road in East Wheatfield Township.
Water line installation continues through July 22nd in the Route 422/Iverson Road area in Blacklick Township. After that, the work will move to Route 403 to School Road in Cherryhill Township. It’s all part of a two-year project on multiple roadways in multiple municipalities, scheduled to last through June 23rd of 2027.
Milling is complete and Indiana Borough will continue its paving program, hoping to get it finished up, weather permitting, this week. Eight streets and avenues will get fresh asphalt in all.
Next week, a two-county resurfacing project begins on Route 56, between Balsiger Road and Lebanon Road in Armstrong County from July 7th through the 21st, and between Route 422 and the Indiana County/Armstrong County line from the 21st through August 4th. That work will be conducted in daylight hours on weekdays and on Saturdays as needed.
