The Steelers made an aggressive move yesterday, trading three-time All-Pro safety Minkah Fitzpatrick to Miami for another three-time All-Pro, cornerback Jalen Ramsey, and then acquiring tight end Jonnu Smith from the Dolphins in a deal that included swapping their fifth round draft choice in 2027 for Miam’s seventh round pick. Ramsey will get a $1.5 million salary increase this season and Smith agreed to a contract extension worth $12 million.
Meanwhile, the Steelers continue to work on a contract extension for linebacker TJ Watt, with ESPN’s Adam Schefter reporting that multiple teams have asked if Watt could be available in a trade but the Steelers giving no indication that they will move him.
