Many people are planning on going to Mack Park on Friday for the fireworks display as part of the YMCA of Indiana County’s Star-Spangled Celebration. IUP is announcing some parking notices ahead of the event.
Consistent with past practices, the University will not limit access to the Wayne Avenue, Stadium South and Stadium North parking lots during the Independence Day celebrations, but parking will be restricted in the KCAC VIP lot in front of the facility and South Campus parking lots near the baseball and softball fields. University Drive on South Campus will be temporarily closed from 7:30 to 11:00 PM on July 4th.
People are also reminded that the University will be closed on the 4th of July, so no IUP facilities will be open or available to access. Lot use should only be for parking purposes, that means no tailgating, grilling, tents or other long-term gatherings allowed.
Regulations for reserved spaces, including handicapped accessible, visitor reserved, admissions reserved, 15- and 30-minute loading and unloading zones, fire lanes and tow-away zones will remain strictly enforced, and illegal parking in those areas could lead to a ticket or having your car towed at your expense.
