While new ownership has been announced for the GetGo gas stations and convenience stores, customers will not see any major differences.
Giant Eagle announced the $1.6 billion sale of its offshoot store to Alimentation Couche-Tard yesterday. They are the parent company of Circle K. Even though there is a change in ownership, much of the company’s offerings will remain the same, including the Perks premiums, locations, food offerings and even the “GetGo” name will remain unchanged. Also, the 3500 employees at both the corporate and in-store levels will be kept. The only difference is that locations that shared staff with a nearby Giant Eagle will now operate with separate teams.
Giant Eagle said they plan on using the money to reinvest in their grocery and pharmacy business.
Currently, GetGo has one location in Indiana County and that is in White Township.
