Indiana County first responders had a very calm Independence Day holiday, but there was one fire call reported.
Indiana County 911 sent the Marion Center and Rossiter fire departments to Parson Road near the intersection with Wright Road and Oberlin Hill Road outside of Locust for what was originally reported as a brush fire at 3:13 PM. Initial reports said the brush fire was due to a vehicle that caught fire. No word on how much property was damaged or if anyone was hurt.
Indiana County’s Emergency Management Agency reported only two other calls on Friday. One was an automatic fire alarm on Church Street in Indiana Borough at 5:16 that sent the Indiana Fire Association out. The other was a call for Saltsburg fire department to set up a landing zone on Nowrytown Road in Conemaugh Township at 8:41 PM
