Rescue crews from Pennsylvania are on their way to Texas to assist in the response to devastating flooding.
Governor Josh Shapiro announced that Pennsylvania Task Force One has been deployed to the Lone Star State to support ongoing rescue and recovery efforts. While official casualty numbers have not yet been confirmed, officials report that over 100 people may have died, including children. Authorities in Texas are still working to assess the full impact. Governor Shapiro said the Commonwealth is praying for Texas and for every family mourning the loss of a loved one.
Pennsylvania Task Force One is part of FEMA’s National Urban Search & Rescue system and is trained to respond to natural disasters across the country.
