Police in Blairsville borough are looking for a man accused of robbing someone during a meetup for the sale of a cell phone in Downtown Blairsville on Monday.
Officers were sent to the intersection of South Spring and Old Main Streets in the borough and talked with the victim, Afam Okigbo of Pittsburgh. He told police that he tried to purchase an iPhone 15 Pro Max from someone on Facebook and was to meet in the 200 block of Liberty Street. Okigbo said that he gave the suspect $260 in cash, but the suspect took the money and the iPhone and ran North on South Spring Street.
The suspect was described as a black man in his 20s with a skinny build, wearing a t-shirt and pants. He has a goatee with razor bumps on his face and some arm tattoos. Police were able to find the suspect on a local security camera.
