Hunting on Sundays will soon be legal across Pennsylvania.
Governor Josh Shapiro signed a bill this week that repeals the Commonwealth’s long-standing ban on Sunday hunting, a restriction that dates back to colonial-era blue laws. Supporters say the move could bring a boost to Pennsylvania’s outdoor economy by attracting new hunters, increasing license sales, and drawing visitors from out of state. The Pennsylvania Game Commission has reported strong interest in limited Sunday hunting days over the past few years, and this new law expands access statewide.
The change officially takes effect in early September just ahead of archery deer season and makes Pennsylvania one of the last states to fully open Sundays to hunters.
