A man who was wanted on warrants was taken into custody by Indiana County Sheriffs Deputies this morning on Philadelphia Street.
Indiana County Sheriff Bob Fyock said that 29-year-old Austin Milanos was apprehended on Philadelphia Street near 14th Street. Sheriffs deputies were notified that Milanos was wanted on a bench warrant, and he started to flee when deputies arrived. The ensuing chase ended when a taser was deployed after he refused to comply. Indiana Borough police were also summoned to assist on the scene.
Milanos has recent history in the court system. Last October, he pleaded guilty to reckless burning in connection with an incident off Route 110 in Rayne Township in 2023. He along with Matthew Lee Smith stole a car, took it to the train tracks along the highway, doused it with gasoline and lit it on fire until it exploded.
Sheriff Fyock said that this is part of an ongoing investigation, and more information is expected to be released later.
