A Philadelphia man was ordered by a federal judge in Johnstown to serve 15 years in prison and five years of probation in connection with a drug ring in 2021.
Last March, 47-year-old Mikal Davis, Jr. of Philadelphia, pleaded guilty to charges of violating federal narcotics laws for a drug ring that involved 29 people from Pennsylvania along with a resident of Long Beach, California and a person from Middletown, Delaware. They were all charged with conspiring to distribute over a kilogram of heroin, five kilos of cocaine, over 280 grams of crack, over 400 grams of fentanyl and over 550 grams of methamphetamine.
Acting U.S. Attorney Troy Rivetti said that he was the ringleader in the Philadelphia and Johnstown areas and was intercepted on a wire tap trying to obtain large quantities of drugs. Davis would also travel with the drug shipments to various “stash houses” in the western PA region.
