911 services were back to form statewide yesterday after Friday’s outage, and they were needed. On a hot Saturday, Indiana County’s firefighters were dispatched for several fire calls, including two reported structure fires.
One of the structure fire calls was on Indian Springs Road in White Township just before 6:30 PM, with Indiana, Homer City, Creekside, Aultman, and the county Rapid Intervention Team activated. The other structure fire dispatch came minutes later, when Coral-Graceton, Homer City, Brush Valley, Armagh-East Wheatfield, and the RIT Team were summoned to Camerons Road in Brush Valley Township. No information is available on either call.
Other dispatches Saturday included utility lines down on East 11th Street in Center Township, with Homer City responding; Coal Ryn/McIntyre and Iselin/West Lebanon firefighters were sent to set up a landing zone along Iselin Road in Young Township; there were also two automatic fire alarms answered by Indiana firefighters.
