GOP Rep. María Salazar explains her immigration reform bill

Lawmakers are pushing new bipartisan legislation that would reform the U.S. immigration system by providing legal status for certain undocumented migrants. Republican Rep. María Elvira Salazar of Florida, one of the authors of the so-called “Dignity Act,” joins “The Takeout” to discuss the measure.

Raising Property Taxes

For a variety of reasons, many school districts are raising property taxes this year.  What’s to blame?

Inflation overall. Everything is more expensive, including running schools.
The state does not provide enough funds to local districts, especially those with low property values.
Charter school funding. I am already paying for my local district, but now I am paying for charter schools, too.
The cost of personnel. Wages, health insurance, pensions, and more are all going up.
School districts are not spending their resources wisely.
The whole school funding system in Pennsylvania is wrong. The system is broken.
