The Indiana Junior League softball team beat the Burkett Junior All-Stars 14-1 on Sunday. Sophia Thomas had five RBI’s, including a three-run homer as part of a nine-run third inning and she added a two-run double in the seventh. Madison Twinchek also had a three-run homer in the third. Starting pitcher Samantha Martin allowed no runs and two hits over three innings, striking out five. Ella Worthington threw one shutout inning in relief.
Indiana returns to action in the Junior League World Series Reginal today at noon against Cornwall, New York in Wilkes-Barre.
