Wednesday night, the White Township Supervisors approved starting direct negotiations with Citizen’s Ambulance Service for the 2026 year.
In a statement prior to the vote, township manager Chris Anderson said that the township has financially supported and had an excellent long-term relationship with the ambulance company, and exclusion from discussions by the Indiana County Municipal Emergency Services Authority and its organizers created a lot of uncertainty on how the organization could benefit the township. He also said that the time was right to start negotiations as budgets are due soon.
The supervisors already have a draft agreement from Citizen’s and will go over in depth at their next meeting.
The supervisors also accepted a donation of field lights from the Indiana Area School District. Anderson said he is working on a solution to transport the lights and poles from the Indiana High School to the White Township Rec Complex.
