The Pennsylvania Game Commission yesterday approved adding several Sundays to the hunting schedule.
Starting September 14th and running through December 7th, all Sundays in that time frame that fall during established hunting seasons will be included as part of those seasons and open to hunting. The one exception is for migratory game birds. No Sundays were added because those seasons are set through federal frameworks and adding any Sundays at this time would result in a loss of hunting days for 2025-26. Hunters are also reminded that many seasons end on Saturday, and the following day would officially be out of season. Previously approved Sunday hunting for foxes, coyotes, and crows remains in place for the 2025-26 seasons.
The Sundays were added to the schedule on the heels of House Bill 1431 being signed into law earlier this month. The new law, which takes effect September 7th, repeals the longtime ban on Sunday hunting in the state. No word yet on when Sunday hunting will be held in 2026.
