PANTHERS PLACE THREE ON PRESEASON ALL-ACC TEAM

The Pitt Panthers placed quarterback Eli Holstein, tailback/punt returner Desmond Reid, and linebacker Kyle Louis on the Preseason All-ACC Team, which was announced yesterday.

Clemson led the conference with eleven players selected for the team, including the top overall vote-getter, quarterback Cade Clubnik.

Raising Property Taxes

For a variety of reasons, many school districts are raising property taxes this year.  What’s to blame?

Inflation overall. Everything is more expensive, including running schools.
The state does not provide enough funds to local districts, especially those with low property values.
Charter school funding. I am already paying for my local district, but now I am paying for charter schools, too.
The cost of personnel. Wages, health insurance, pensions, and more are all going up.
School districts are not spending their resources wisely.
The whole school funding system in Pennsylvania is wrong. The system is broken.
