The Chancellor of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education is planning to visit IUP and all the system’s schools this upcoming school year.
In his latest blog post, Dr. Christopher Fiorentino said that his tour will give him an opportunity to share his thoughts on PASSHE’s priorities and hear from students, faculty and staff on how the system can move forward in the future. It’s part of the current efforts for the state system redesign. He says that while there has been a lot that has happened, including the consolidation of six universities to two and launching a statewide student information system, he feels there is still a lot to be done. He called the final steps necessary to prepare for the future, including a series of actions to make sure that resources are used wisely by “optimizing around academics, finances and engagement.” While he would not go into detail about what those actions are, he said they would come in the coming weeks.
Details on Fiorentino’s visit to IUP have not been released yet.
