The Altoona Curve picked up five runs on 12 hits, but were doubled-up by the Hartford Yard Goats 10-5 on Thursday at PNG Field.
Hartford jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the top of the first and added a run in the fourth and two in the sixth to build a lead. Curve starter Domenic Perachi was tagged for all the first-inning runs. While Cy Nelson put forward two scoreless innings for Altoona, Blake Townshend allowed three runs on six hits, which breaks his 12 inning scoreless streak. The two teams resume the series tonight, with Wilbur Dotel scheduled to start for the Curve.
