The River Valley School Board will meet tonight and school safety software is on the agenda.
The board will consider an agreement between the district and RAPTOR Technologies for the VisitorSafe License program. The system is designed to help track visitors on campus. Each visitor is also screened against the registered sex offender databases that RAPTOR maintains and keeps up to date on all 50 states along with any other databases created by each school district, including those banned or restricted, those with custody issues, individuals with restraining orders.
The program will include tablets for the district to use. The program will cost $9,390 in year one and $4,970 annually for an additional two years. The cost will be covered by the Safe Schools Grant.
Other items on the agenda include agreements for the CVS Skills Lab at the district’s STEAM Academy, and the hiring of several coaches for the fall and winter seasons.
The meeting starts at 7:00 at the River Valley High School Auditorium.
