We have passed the halfway point of August and fall is quickly approaching, but there is still a lot of activity on roadways throughout Indiana County, as illustrated by a new project that starts on Tuesday.
Starting on Tuesday, PennDOT says Route 119 will be repaved from Route 85 in Home to Behm Road/Marshall Road in Marchand. That’s about a ten-mile stretch of highway that includes the three-lane climbing hill just south of Marchand. The work will take until the end of October, with single-lane traffic controlled by flaggers.
Meanwhile, the resurfacing project on Route 22 in East Wheatfield Township continues between Armagh and Cambria County to the east. It’s scheduled to be completed by the end of October.
The two-year water line replacement project continues in Buffington, Cherryhill, Pine, Green, and Blacklick townships. Crews last week moved to the Route 403/Cameron Bottom Road aspect of the project in Cherryhill Township, the third phase of the work. They’re scheduled to work there through January 5th before moving on to the final stage, from Route 580 at the Penns Manor schools to Uniontown from January 26th next year until the end of June, 2027.
A bridge replacement project continues on Route 954 in White and Brush Valley townships, scheduled to wrap up in October, with two more bridge replacement projects scheduled to finish in November: one on McIntyre Road in Young and Armstrong townships and the other on Clarksburg Road in Conemaugh Township.
White Township road crews this week will be cleaning the ditch along Moretti Road at the beginning of the week, performing a pipe repair on Kolter Drive in midweek, and repairing an inlet on Bradley Court later in the week.
