Altoona lost a second straight game to Reading, 8-4 despite three hits each by Mitch Jebb and Konnor Griffin. The Curve had twelve hits but were just 4-for-13 with runners in scoring position. New catcher Derek Berg had two hits in his first Double-A game. Like Griffin, he is playing at his third level in the Pirates system in his first year in pro ball. Duce Gourson had another multi-hit game, his ninth with the Curve.
