Along with the fire in Salem Township, two other structure fires were reported by Indiana County 911 over the last 24 hours.
One of those fires was at 9:20 last night that brought Pine Township, Cherryhill Township, Vintondale and Hope fire departments and Black Lick Valley EMS out to a location on Varner Lane in Pine Township. Pine Township fire officials confirmed that it was a controlled burn and all other units were cancelled. Marion Center firefighters were called in for standby detail 13 minutes later as Pine Township was on standby at Dog Hollow Speedway, so Marion Center subbed in for them.
A structure fire was also reported this morning in White Township. Indiana, Coral-Graceton, Homer City, Creekside and Aultman fire departments were sent out at 1:35 this morning to the Burger King on Oakland Avenue. Fire officials said that the fire was in a grease hood, but when they got there, the fire was already out.

Minor damage was reported to the hood, but there was no other damage. Burger King officials told firefighters that they would be able to open as usual today. Crews were on-scene for 45 minutes.
First responders also dealt with a vehicle crash yesterday at 2:29 PM on South Ben Franklin Road in front of Sheetz in White Township.

Two vehicles were involved in the rear-end collision. No injuries were reported. Indiana firefighters were sent out along with State Police and Citizen’s Ambulance. One vehicle was towed.
Another call for Indiana firefighters came at 8:21 PM when a carbon monoxide alarm went off at a location on North 6th Street in Indiana Borough. Borough police joined fire crews on that call.
