Homer City Redevelopment CEO Corey Hessen updated the board of directors of the Indiana County Chamber of Commerce last week on the progress of the demolition at the site of the former Homer City Generating Station, and on the gas-fired power plant that will replace it and the natural gas pipeline that will feed it.
Chamber President Mark Hilliard told the board more than 120 people attended the Western Pennsylvania Data Center Workshop August 7th at IUPs Eberly College of Business at IUP, focusing specifically on the workforce that will be needed at the data center that will be housed at the massive campus surrounding the new power plant.
Hilliard also said a business information event is being developed to further the discussions.
