Wilber Dotel, Michael Walsh, and Valentin Linarez combined on a two-hitter as Altoona shut out Harrisburg, 8-0 last night in the opener of their six-game series. Third baseman Javier Rivas had two hits, including a home run and PJ Hilson, Esmerlyn Valdez, Duce Gourson, and Omar Alfonzo all had two hits and an RBI.
Richmond lost to Akron, 10-1, allowing the Curve to extend their second-half lead in the Eastern League Southwest Division to two games with seventeen games remaining.
