Two fatal vehicle crashes were reported in Indiana County over the last 24 hours.
Indiana County 911 reported the first collision on Route 22 West in Burrell Township near the Blairsville Walmart on Friday at 3:39 PM. Blairsville and Black Lick firefighters were summoned along with Citizen’s Ambulance, Mutual Aid EMS and State Police from the Indiana Barracks. Black Lick fire officials initially said three people were hurt and were taken to the hospital for treatment. The road was closed for a few hours to facilitate investigation and cleanup. Coral-Graceton firefighters were called in for standby detail.
The other fatal crash was on Old Route 119 South in White Township just North of Johnson Road. Indiana Fire Association was called out at 12:15 this morning to provide traffic control.
Indiana County Coroner Jerry Overman, Jr. confirmed the fatalities, but the names of the victims have not been released, pending notification of the victims’ families.
