Monday night, the Indiana School Board once again tabled motions related to naming the new board vice-president.
While the board approved naming former teacher Eric Brocious as the person who will fill the seat of the Sue Reig, whose resignation was accepted last month, he was not present, and it was the wish of the board to have all nine members in attendance to vote on the new vice-president. To that end, the board did approve naming Julia Trimarchi Cuccaro as the president pro-tempore of the board for the meeting on September 22nd as board president Walter Schroth will be unable to attend. The meeting may not take place, as in the past, the September special meeting has been cancelled for lack of an agenda.
The board was also introduced to 20 educators from all over the world for the Fulbright Scholars program. Bill Waryck, who is the district representative for the program, talked about how important it was to bring the program back to the district.
This marks the 10th year the district and IUP are hosting the Fulbright Scholars.
