Erma M. Somogyi, 89 of Mentcle, died Monday, Sept. 22, 2025, surrounded by her children.
She was the daughter of Pete and Rose (Presto) Rizzo and was born on Dec. 21, 1935.
She was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Friend. Erma was a hard worker, loved baking, and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was employed by Penns Manor High School as a custodian for 23 years.
She is survived by her five children: Joseph Somogyi and Wife Tammy, of Northern Cambria; Kimberly Somogyi, of Mentcle; Terry Somogyi and wife Sherrie, of Mentcle; Lynda Kirsch and husband Karl, of Carrolltown; Valerie Somogyi, of Indiana; Ten grandchildren: Jessica Greenidge and husband Rimmon; Miranda Hrubochak and husband Brent; Janel Wilson and husband Dan; Sara Somogyi; Joey Somogyi and wife Paige; Tyler, Mathew, Dylan Somogyi, Nicholas and Karlie Kirsch. Ten Great Grandchildren: Dommenic and Sidnee Hrubochak, Mackenzie, Trenton and Ayden Wilson, Carter and Graham Cullen, Isaiah and Makai Greenidge, Peyton, Eliza, and Lincoln Somogyi. One brother: John Rizzo and wife Janet. One sister: Louise Moore.
Erma was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Somogyi; Parents Pete and Rose Rizzo; and three brothers, Chase, Mario, and Anthony RIzzo and four sisters, Josephine Mucci, Frances Higgins, Helen Schilling, and Judy Bassett.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday, September 25, 2025 from 2 pm to 8 pm at the McCabe~Roof Funeral Home, 565 Franklin St. Clymer, PA, Erma’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, at 10 am at the Church of the Resurrection Church, Heilwood, PA with Fr. James Watson as celebrant. Interment will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Cameron’s Bottom.
