The chief of Clymer Borough Police is facing a summary charge of criminal mischief for an incident on September 10th.
State police said the incident happened at 12:22 PM that day at a home in the 300 block of Franklin Street. Chief Adam Lewis, who was off-duty at the time, reportedly was involved in an encounter with a 26-year-old man living there and knocked a cell phone out of the man’s hand and it landed on the ground, causing some damage. A non-traffic citation was filed and the case is remaining open pending court action.
Clymer Borough officials say that Lewis remains as Clymer’s full time police chief while the investigation continues. He was promoted last month to chief to take over for Charles Waller, Jr., who resigned after allegations of simple assault, harassment and strangulation were reported for an incident in June of this year.
