The Pirates closed the season with a chance to sweep the Atlanta Braves. But just like most of the season, they didn’t get the job done. Joe Block has the story.
Manager Donnie Kelly finished with a record of 59-65 after taking over for Derek Shelton in May. The Pirates were 32-33 after the All-Star break. Kelly believes the Pirates are on the right track heading into the offseason.
On The Ben Cherington Show on WCCS, the Pirates’ GM acknowledged he has a lot of work to do between now and spring training.
Cherington says he believes Donnie Kelly is the best man to lead the Pirates, and he thinks Kelly will be back next year.
