Coach Paul Tortorella told Jack Benedict on Hawk Talk on Renda Digital TV and U92 radio that he welcomes the bye week that the team is enjoying after Saturday’s Homecoming win over Edinboro.
The coach says the timing is right.
Tortorella is being careful not to push his players too much during the layoff.
IUP returns to action at Slippery Rock on October 18th.
IUP defensive end Logan Goodwin is the PSAC West Defensive Athlete of the Week in football. He had five tackles, including two solo tackles with 2.5 of the Crimson Hawks’ nine sacks, and he forced a fumble on one of his sacks. He also broke up a pass in coverage.
