According to an ESPN report, James Franklin has been fired as head coach of the Penn State Nittany Lions football program after 12 seasons.
Penn State started the season ranked No. 2 in the nation and won its first three games, but the team lost to Oregon, then No. 6, in overtime, lost to 0-4 UCLA, and lost to Northwestern yesterday to now be 3-3.
Franklin left the field at Beaver Stadium yesterday to chants of ‘Fire Franklin.’
The loss to Oregon dropped Penn State to 4-21 against AP top 10 teams under Franklin.
