The Road to the KCAC is complete after last night’s volleyball action. West Shamokin finishes the Heritage Conference regular season 16-0 with a 3-0 sweep of Penns Manor. Purchase Line defeated Homer-Center 3-2 and Marion Center swept River Valley 3-0. Both teams finish the regular season with conference records of 12-4 but Purchase Line earns the spot as the number two team from the west by virtue of a tiebreaker. The Red Dragons will take on the top team from the east, Conemaugh Township, a 3-0 winner over Cambria Heights last night.

Marion Center won the JV game, 2-1. River Valley won the 9th grade game, 2-0 and the 8th grade game, 2-1.
Conemaugh Valley won a five-setter from Northern Cambria, dropping the first and third sets and taking the second, fourth, and fifth. (In her first year as a varsity starter, the Lady Colts’ Ciara McCracken collected her 500th career assist.)

Saturday’s Heritage Conference Championship action on “The Road to the KCAC” begins with the two best-of-three semifinals, starting at 5:30, followed by the best-of-five championship. Purchase Line will play Conemaugh Township in the first semifinal, and defending champion West Shamokin will play the Northern Cambria in the second, followed by the championship match.
