The Penguins started the season 2-0, but now they’re 2-2 after a loss last night in Anaheim. Paul Steigerwald has the recap.
Justin Brazeau and Rickard Rakell both scored in the first period to give the Penguins their 2-0 lead.
The Ducks scored two power play goals, including the game-winner by Kreider. The man-advantage that set up the goal was created by Penguins defenseman Parker Wotherspoon’s penalty for delay of game, when he attempted to clear the puck out of the defensive zone but shot it over the glass and into the stands. Coach Dan Muse says it was a bad break for Wotherspoon.
Sidney Crosby says the Penguins played good hockey but didn’t finish well.
Tristan Jarry stopped 16 of 20 Anaheim shots and took the loss in goal. The Penguins put 28 shots on goal against Lukáš Dostál.
The Penguins play the Kings in Los Angeles tomorrow night.
